The numbers are in from the Colorado Department of Education and they clearly show that learning with wonder and joy works at Wyatt Academy (Wyatt), a tuition-free public K-5 charter school in the Cole-Whittier neighborhood with a green SPF rating. A higher percentage of Wyatt students are at or above grade level than any other school in the area, and Wyatt is achieving impressive growth above and beyond our neighboring schools in Math, according to the median scores from CMAS. Why? How?

We’re excited because this means we are succeeding more every year in closing the opportunity gap for our wonderful students. Our talented educators collaborate in project-based learning to help our students find joy in every lesson. We believe that educating with the core values of Community, Opportunity, Wonder, and Joy helped us achieve and maintain a Green SPF rating since 2019 and now we’re growing stronger in ELA and Math.
Our upward momentum is due to so many incredible teachers in our community. Lisa Grant is an all-star Wyatt teacher who has played a huge role in Wyatt's victories. Ms.Grant has been a Wyatt teacher for 10 years, and has seen monumental student growth each year. Thanks to Ms. Grant, Wyatt's fifth grade math data has consistently outperformed neighborhood peers year over year. We are lucky to have a teacher who brings so much passion to our school.
